Su Chases has been designing stunning interiors for over 30 years.
Her extensive knowledge of design and her flair for artistic creation has enabled Su to create unique individual interiors for hundreds of homes across London, Buckinghamshire and the surrounding areas and not forgetting coastal and foreign holiday homes!
Su’s approach is friendly and personal. Each design project is created individually, respecting her clients’ tastes and lifestyle.
Su and her team are just as comfortable creating complete designs for opulent show homes as she is styling one individual room with fresh window dressings, or the addition of some cushions to give an injection of personality.
Su began her career in television as a set designer.
After spending ten fabulous years as a Production Designer at ATV/Central TV, she then left the company to become a freelance designer. This work was complemented by sourcing and selling a small range of wallpapers and fabrics from a converted barn from her home in Chenies, Buckinghamshire.
From initially hosting a charity lunch at home, Su soon built up a group of local followers, interested in her fabrics, wallpapers and her interior design skills.
To this day, some of those early clients are still loyal customers.
In 1985, Su, her husband and her young family moved to the High Street in Old Amersham. This stunning Georgian townhouse became their new family home.
Seizing the opportunity of this prime location, Su displayed a postcard in her front window advertising her interior design services, ‘By Appointment or By Chance!”
And the rest, as they say, is history.
As business took off, a bright and airy conservatory was added to the house, which soon became the successful design studio it is today.
With business booming and the family growing, Su and her family moved home to the other end of the hight street. Su Chases Interiors took over the complete premises, resulting in a unique interior space that embraces the architecture of this historic building.
The Shop at Su Chases now boasts a lavish showroom packed with a stylish array of furniture, lighting, home accessories and interior decorations and often likened to an Aladdin’s Cave.
Creating a shop within a character house and thoughtfully placing furniture as you would in a living space, customers get to experience first-hand how pieces can work together.
By carefully layering each room with furniture, textiles, lighting, mirrors, and accessories, the shop is arranged to feel personal and comfortable, like a home.
Su says, “In today’s online marketplace, it’s important to me that our customers get to visit a physical shop to touch and feel the pieces.
We would love you to come and browse, take your time and hopefully be inspired to create the dream home you’ve always wished for”.
